Kochi City Tour

Usually, on a fixed itinerary which has a day or two at Kochi including the day of arrival with overnight stay at Fort Cochin, Kochi city tour is mostly a visit to the touristic Kochi which is limited to Fort Kochi & Mattancherry.

Fort Kochi: St. Francis Church, Chinese Fishing nets with a walk along the fishing stalls, Santa Cruz Basilica and a drive past the Dutch Cemtery, stopping by on the way to Mattancherry at Dobi Ghat.

Mattancherry: Dutch Palace, Paradesi Synagogue and a walk around Jew town.

Depending on the interest of the tourists and how much they can bear the hot weather the tour may go around the Gujarati and Jain temple. We do have quite a few interesting temples around that area.

Mattancherry Bazar is also an interesting visit, but the narrow road there is always crowded and driving through in a car is a time drain. Walking is the best option. On the way is the small shrine famous for the Coonan Cruze oath of the Syrian Christians.

But what we strongly suggest for those tourists who are on a South India Tour or on a just Kerala Tour, go over to the Ernakulam side of our Kochi. That's where Kerala's urban life is.

If you want to intereact with the real Urban Kerala, you need to walk around our MG Road, visit one of those magnificent textile and Jewellery shops of Kerala. Lulu Mall is a marvel in the middle of our town, the New Kochi, a wonderful opportunity to witness the emerging Kerala and India. If you are looking at shopping, the shops in these areas have only one price, both for the locals and the tourists, unlike Fort Cochin or Mattancherry Jew town area.

Lulu Mall

Food courts at Center Square on MG Road, Marine Drive and at Lulu Mall have good vegetarian and Non-Vegetarian options.

All these will take a day and you should be prepared to walk  a lot.
